UPDATE: MWCD Campgrounds Remain Closed Until Further Notice

April 28, 2020

We continue to carefully monitor and follow the direction from the Governor’s Office and the Ohio Department of Health about COVID-19 or coronavirus so we can provide you with timely information on when MWCD will be permitted to re-open facilities to the public. Yesterday we learned campgrounds are not permitted to re-open on May 1 as we had hoped.  We will continue to communicate with ODH on when the opening of campgrounds will be permitted.

Please also know that we continue to evaluate what services we may be able to provide while the Stay at Home Order continues.  This includes cabin rentals and docking at MWCD operated marinas, which is currently not permitted. (Clendening, Piedmont, Seneca and Tappan Marinas). We will provide additional information on the availability of these amenities soon.

Finally, trails, boat launch ramps, and fishing from the shoreline continues to be open to the public.

Please know that we are working diligently to maintain all of our facilities despite being closed to the public. We have ramped up cleaning efforts and are making sure that when we open many of our facilities, we abide by the state requirements and social distancing guidance.  We are also continuing to cautiously hire seasonal staff to support operations so that we will be ready as soon as we are permitted to open.

As is our hallmark, the safety of our staff and guests is top priority and although we want to provide our full suite of service immediately, we are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards.   As soon as we are permitted by ODH, and when we feel confident that are prepared to open, we will provide that information.

Thank you for your continued patience. Although this has been a frustrating “start” to the 2020 camping and boating season, we are hopeful that we all can welcome you back soon to MWCD.
